Attributes: Tea Tree oil is an antibacterial. Where there are some that promote applying topically undiluted to infected skin such as acne or boils, this would be unwise. Tea tree is very strong and astringent and dries the skin surrounding the treatment area and in some instances it can sting or burn. Other attributes are said to include as an antifungal either internally (for women’s candida issues) or for atheletes foot and toenail fungi. I do not recommend the use of Tea tree for treatment of feet or nails as it can discolour the nails. Equally when applied with other essential oils as a douche – it needs to be extremely well diluted because of the sensitivity of the region, and this includes if men use it as an antifungal for Tinea Curis (Jock itch). I am informed if undiluted it can be extremely painful. Itching from bites may be relieved from a topical application.
